Frequently Asked Questions — Veterinary Clinics in St. Louis
How does an AI receptionist work for veterinary clinics?
Sockly's AI receptionist answers every call to your veterinary clinic instantly. It triages urgency — distinguishing between routine appointment requests, prescription refills, and true emergencies like poisoning or trauma. It books appointments, answers questions about your services, and immediately escalates emergencies to your on-call veterinarian.
Can the AI triage urgent veterinary calls?
Yes. Sockly detects emergency keywords — vomiting blood, hit by car, seizure, difficulty breathing, ingested poison — and immediately escalates to your emergency protocol. Routine calls (vaccines, checkups, grooming) are booked normally. This triage happens in under 10 seconds.
How much do veterinary clinics lose to missed calls?

Does the AI integrate with veterinary practice management software?
Sockly works with Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook today; other software connections are not available yet. Appointments are booked directly into available slots, new client profiles are created, and species/breed information is captured during the call.
What about after-hours emergency calls for pets?
Sockly handles after-hours calls by determining urgency. True emergencies trigger immediate notification to your on-call vet or redirect to your emergency partner clinic. Non-urgent calls are booked for the next available appointment with a confirmation text sent to the pet owner.
