Quick Answer
A roofing AI answering service should take every call during storm spikes, book the free inspection on your calendar, ask whether there's an active leak, capture the insurance claim status and the roof's age, and text you a summary. Roof replacements run five figures, so one inspection booked during the call covers months of service.
Our data: how often callers can't get through
From Sockly's own scan of Google Maps reviews of independent businesses (chains removed), updated November 3, 2026. A business counts when a review from the last 12 months says the caller couldn't get through, never got a call back, or was treated badly at the front desk.
| Trade | Businesses checked | With a recent complaint | Share |
|---|---|---|---|
| roofing | 117 in 8 metros | 10 | 9% |
Not every caller who gives up leaves a review, so these are floor figures. Method and full data: missed-call research.
Roofing call volume follows the weather. A crew that's on a roof can't answer, and storm weeks bring more calls than a person in the office can take.
Capture these on the first call
Your sales rep walks in already knowing:
- Active leak now? (Route for a tarp if yes.)
- Storm date, and whether an insurance claim is filed.
- Roof age and material if they know it.
- Address, and the best time for an inspection.
Storm-week setup
Forward all calls during a storm week, not only missed ones. Keep the inspection slots wide, and let the AI fill them while your office handles adjusters.
